1989 - 1994     Senior HR Officer     ICL (International Computers Ltd)

Provided a generalist HR service to the Manufacturing and Finance functions, including recruitment and selection. Successfully recruited over 300 contract staff and designed and delivered their induction programme. Conducted performance management reviews, pay reviews and discipline and grievance appeals. Managed 60 under-graduates, co-ordinating and evaluating their workplace assignments in accordance with university guidelines. Received an ICL Silver Recognition Award for this work. Responsible for hosting corporate and educational visits to the site.

1988 - 1989     Bi-Lingual Assistant     Consulate General of Switzerland

A customer-facing role, dealing with business and personal enquiries from visitors to the consulate. Managed visa applications, advised UK business clients on promoting services and products in Switzerland.
